Old cells in the Monastery have been reconstructed since May 2008. Works have been implemented with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

In April- May 2008 archaeological excavations were carried out on the territory of the Monastery. Detailed information on the results of these works see on “History”

In March 2008 a novice of the church Vazha Areshidze was consecrated monk and was named Khariton.
